Description
William MacFarland was the first municipal organist of Portland, Maine and performed on the Hermann Kotzschmar Memorial organ built for the Portland, ME City Hall by the Austin Co. “America” was the result of a competition to submit new music for the poem. Though he did not win, it is indeed a very interesting and lovely arrangement.
